Founded in 2013, BUILD has converted more than 30 shipping containers into medical clinics and educational units.

This year, BUILD reached a significant milestone when it surpassed $1 million in donations toward its mission to provide medical and educational resources to impoverished communities. Since 2013, the student-run organization has converted 34 shipping containers into medical clinics and educational units that have been deployed in Texas and 20 countries worldwide.

BUILD students continued working during the pandemic to construct six of these units, including three that will benefit the Brazos Valley community through The REACH Project. A nonprofit that supports essential Aggies like campus food service and custodial workers, REACH received one medical clinic for diagnostic services and two educational units for personal and professional development classes.

“BUILD’s goal is to unite the Texas A&M student body. By constructing containers for REACH, we hope to further amplify our mission,” said Robin Bowden ’21, BUILD CEO.

“We’re excited to partner with BUILD,” added Max Gerall ’18, REACH founder and CEO. “These clinics will be a life-saving resource for essential campus employees and low-income individuals throughout the Brazos Valley.”
