The award-winning Texas A&M University Wind Symphony is spreading the sound of Aggieland around the world.
Whether they’re playing in Rudder Theatre, Carnegie Hall or venues in Italy, the Texas A&M University Wind Symphony gives student musicians the experience of a lifetime and brings the Spirit of Aggieland to people throughout the country and around the world. Led by Dr. Timothy Rhea, the award-winning wind symphony comprises the university’s most exceptional wind and percussion instrumentalists and performs classical to contemporary literature.
This May, thanks to generous donations made to the Wind Symphony World Tour Travel Fund, the group traveled across the Atlantic for its first appearance in Spain, performing in the cities of Madrid, Granada and Ronda during a two-week tour. For some members, this was their first international trip, while for others, the tour marked their final melodic representation of Texas A&M. “Sharing music with others is one of the most important things we do,” Rhea said. “Traveling abroad provides transformational musical and cultural experiences for our students that are difficult to duplicate.”
Help the Wind Symphony share the sounds of Aggieland around the world by giving to the symphony’s travel fund.
