A civil engineering major, Marcy Newman ’80 graduated not only with geometric design criteria committed to memory but also with Texas A&M University’s core values engraved in her heart. And since graduation, she continues to exemplify one characteristic in full capacity: selfless service.

Today, Newman dedicates her time and expertise to mentoring tomorrow’s Aggie women engineers. She’s served as president of the Aggie Women Network and currently serves as chair of the Aggie Women Engineers Network. But, beyond her time and talents, she has also made it a priority to use her treasures to empower future Aggie engineers. With both a current scholarship and a planned gift to further her support after her lifetime, she’s ensuring that hardworking students can pursue their dreams without financial concern.

A Hard-Earned Education

“The Foundation will invest and grow our funds in the future, ensuring our distributions also grow. Knowing that this long-term approach will help our contribution support deserving Aggies forever is the best gift."

The Newmans are excited to use their planned gift to add support to their existing scholarship and also establish a Women in Engineering Excellence Fund, President’s Endowed Scholarship and a scholarship supporting civil engineering students. “The Foundation will invest and grow our funds in the future, ensuring our distributions also grow,” Newman explained. “Knowing that this long-term approach will help our contribution support deserving Aggies forever is the best gift. We may not see the trees we plant today, but I know we’ve left something behind that will mature and benefit those who need it most.”
