Parsons Mounted Cavalry is a student-led outfit in the Corps of Cadets responsible for preserving one of the university’s most iconic traditions. From caring for more than 40 horses to maintaining equipment and preparing for public events, cadets in Parsons Mounted Cavalry take on daily responsibilities that require discipline, leadership and teamwork.

Join John Moreland ’26, the unit’s commanding officer, as he walks through the history and mission of the unit while demonstrating what it takes to maintain their tradition of excellence—from early morning chores to game day traditions. Along the way, John shares what this experience has meant to him, how the unit continues to shape and develop strong leaders, and the role you can play in the future of the cavalry.

Join the charge. Support the cavalry.

You can help the cavalry keep marching through a gift to its endowment held at the Texas A&M Foundation to support operations, facility upkeep and horse maintenance, and travel to events across the state. Fill out the form below to learn more and connect with Samantha Clements ’09 from our Corps of Cadets Development Team.
