Now forming on the next episode of Discovering Aggieland: the nationally famous, Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band.
With head yell leader Kyler Fife ’25 as your guide, march through one of Aggieland’s most treasured traditions with the infantry band drum major himself, Matthew Sherman ’26. Weaving through the discipline and dynamics of what it takes to perfect the nation’s largest collegiate military marching band, Sherman explains the honor and responsibility of holding the mace on game day.
“Having my buddies behind me and stepping off on Kyle Field surrounded by 110,000 people standing for the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band is the most surreal feeling that I’ve experienced,” Sherman said.
