The Texas A&M Foundation Board of Trustees announced today the appointment of Wayne Roberts ’85 as interim president and CEO of the Foundation, effective June 1.
John Huser ’89, vice president and chief financial officer of the Foundation, has served as acting leader since Dec. 2, 2025, providing steady leadership during an important period for the organization. The Board of Trustees extends its gratitude for his service and commitment to the mission.
Roberts, a current member of the Foundation’s Board, will continue in that capacity alongside this new role. He brings more than 35 years of experience building and leading high-achieving organizations and has deep familiarity with the Foundation, its team and its partnership with Texas A&M University.
The Board’s decision to pause an ongoing national search for a permanent president reflects the remarkable opportunities before the organization as it prepares to celebrate Texas A&M’s 150th anniversary this fall. The Board determined that organizational familiarity, the ability to act quickly and strong stakeholder partnerships were the defining factors for leadership at this moment. The Foundation remains deeply committed to growing donor relationships and strengthening partnerships across the university.
“Wayne’s leadership experience, combined with his genuine commitment to the Foundation and its mission, made this a clear decision for the Board. We are confident he is the right person to lead the Texas A&M Foundation through this exciting chapter in the university’s history,” said Dan Allen Hughes Jr. ’80, chair of the Foundation’s Board.
“I’m passionate about the mission of the Texas A&M Foundation and am humbled to serve an organization that is making a profound difference in the lives of our students, faculty and staff,” said Roberts. “We have a tremendous opportunity to build upon that legacy, and I look forward to working with an amazing team at the Foundation as we celebrate the sesquicentennial of Texas A&M.”
